Why Do Children Pick On Other Kids That Wear Glasses?
Whilst browsing I came across some really terrible figures when it came to children wearing glasses. Many of them do not understand why they are being picked on and so many of them also want to not use their glasses anymore simply because they are being bullied, but why is this?
Although everyone with glasses is not smart, not by any means at all in fact, it would seem that bullies tend to target the really clever ones. This is based on the general figures. Many children feel threatened by the clever students which is of course why they attempt to bully them in the first place. The reason that so many children find it hard to fight back is because the bully pushes at the confidence level.

- 20% if children have seen classmates actually skip one or more day of school because of bullying they received when it came to glasses.
- 25% of children that wear glasses said they are upset because they have to wear them to school
- Half of all children do not actually wear their glasses when they are supposed too
- Once again half of the children that wear glasses are called names.
It is figures like this that make you realise just how big the problems are. One of the first steps to take when it comes to bullying is simply ask them to ask the bullies to stop doing it. If this doesn’t work tell them to stand up for themselves. useing the fact that bullies are often not clever is a great idea. If none of this is actually working then you need to go into the school or speak to the parents of the bully, this could really help.
So when you think glasses don’t always think cool police glasses and aviator glasses, think about the normal people that wear cheap glasses.
